Associate Director, Europe
Simon has a 46-year career in railway transportation, over half of which at international level. With experience in both public and private sector settings, during his career Simon has been at the sharp end of the transposition to a ‘privatised’ railway and influenced firsthand the metamorphosis of a number of leading companies.
He has held a wide range of well-grounded operating positions and also Board level roles as Operations Director, Head of Safety and Standards, Director Europe and Chief Standardisation Officer. Prior to becoming a rail consultant, Simon worked for British Rail, EPS/Eurostar, Railtrack/Network Rail, Rail Safety Limited/RSSB, Go-Ahead/GTR and UIC (the International Union of Railways).
A fluent French speaker, Simon has also built a reputation for being equally at ease in the board rooms of the major railway companies of Europe as well as on a stage compering, moderating, chairing, presenting or preparing and delivering podcasts and voiceovers.
